The only thing modern printers need for themselves is generally an external power source, as the majority of them already have one inside. On the other hand, since CPUs require an external power source to work, you should be able to use your printer's USB port to charge it up.

If that's not possible and you're forced to look for another way to transfer power from your computer or any other device on which the printer is plugged in order to charge its own battery, then there are two options mentioned below:

- You can purchase a Li-ion power bank and allow it charge both your printer as well as your computer at the same time.

This is depending on the printer, but it can be as little as $10 or less. - You can buy a desktop charger, which is useful if you have a lot of devices to charge and you need the power bank to charge the main device in your computer, such as the CPU.

These chargers are usually very expensive and they usually do not come with a power bank included.

- You can also use an external charger just for your printer, if you already have this type of charger included with your printer in case it needs additional power (some lower end printers run off AA batteries and may not be able to work without them).

Its printing offers multiple settings. It can print 2 pages on a single page to use less amount of paper. The paper tray’s capacity is 250 sheets of paper. You can print a large quantity without replacing paper again and again.

- You can also power your printer with a solar panel if you have one of these.

These are the five options that I've mentioned above, but there is probably another way to power your printer using something else than your computer.

The most common issue that I personally come across while using USB ports on my computers are devices that are of a power source different from what I'm providing from my computer (like batteries) causing the device to not be able to charge.

This is due to not having enough power in the output and/or an incorrect type of connection for the input (some ports only send 5V, others can send both 5V and 12V).

##First, you'll need a way to connect the printer to the computer- this can be done with an ethernet cable or wirelessly using WiFi.

##Second, you'll need a way to store the documents and images that come out of the printer like by placing them in a folder on your computer's desktop.

##Third, make sure your printer is connected and working properly. To do this, open up My Computer and find where your printers are listed- they should show up as "printer name" (ex: hp deskjet 3070).

Right click on it and click properties- if it is connected, it should look like "Connected" in the box next to "Status".

##Fourth, you'll need to be able to print or make copies. To do this, look for the icon on your desktop (it looks like a printer) and right click on it. Click "print using".

Click "HP Deskjet 3070" or whatever printer you have. Click Next and then Finish. You'll need to do this each time you want to use your printer.
